There are many negative consequences from eating meat. The most far reaching and detrimental consequences from consuming animal products are of spiritual nature. We are not the body, nor are we the mind or the emotions, we are love. The more we indulge our senses in a practice that brings harm to other beings, the more we are moving away from our true self. Love does no harm!
The health consequences of consuming animal products are widely known thanks to many good movies and videos. A plantbased lifestyle is known to reverse the greatest of health challenges. So why are vegetarians still in the minority amongst humans? Because in order to return to our true self, we have to wake up from the illusion of who we are. We have to overcome the domination of the ego.
In this new video (click here to watch), I will share with you some shocking revelations I was given over my 30+ years of living a plantbased lifestyle, and I will also share with you a solution on how to overcome the ego self.

If you are not a rawfoodist, but you are interested in becoming one, it would be good to ask yourself why you want to become a rawfoodist because the motive will define if you will suceed on this lifestyle.
Here are some different types of rawfoodists:
Some people who prepare raw food are not automatically rawfoodists. They might just like the creative aspect of being a raw chef, but they eat cooked food after work. So they will not have experienced the benefits of being fully raw and will not be able to help you become fully raw.
Matthew Kenney, for example, is a chef who also prepares raw food, but he is not a rawfoodist because he also eats cooked food. For a raw food chef it is not important to use alkalising ingredients, so they might use non-raw ingredients, such as salt, coconut sugar, agar agar, etc.
Other people are short term rawfoodists because they want to lose weight. They will also not be able to help you become fully raw because they will not be interested in the creative aspect of a raw vegan lifestyle. They have not fully committed themselves to a raw vegan lifestyle because they are only interested in the short-term change until they lose the desired amount of weight. They will be looking forward to the cooked food after they lose the weight.
Being obsessed with body image and looks is a sign that a person is operating on the level of the ego and that person won’t be able to truly be of service to others. This Rawfoodist will also not be able to help you become a healthy permanent Rawfoodist.
The rawfoodist for health reason might be a rawfoodist who is afraid of certain raw ingredients, such as raw oils, nuts, and seeds. They might be very careful about the ingredients they use and their diet might be so restricted that it would not be sustainable for a newcomer and it may not be sustainable in the long run.
Fear is not a good thing in any situation. It is important to have a balanced lifestyle. When on raw food, we should eat when we are hungry and not restrict ourselves. Also eating avocados, nuts, and seeds will satisfy us quicker and we will not have to eat large amounts of fruit and salads in one sitting.
When we come from a long-term cooked food way of life it is not reasonable to expect a person to immediately live a very pure life on just fruit and salads. Dehydrating food is a very important aspect of the raw food lifestyle because it reminds us of cooked food and it will keep us satisfied on raw food. When you also eat dehydrated food recipes, you can sustainably stay on raw food for a very long time. You will be able to manage your cravings for cooked foods and after some time the cravings for cooked foods will stop completely.
A person who eats fruit only might find it physiologically unsustainable in the long term. When we eat even small amounts of cooked food, we lose the taste for raw food. The gut bacteria will change back to cooked food bacteria and they will crave more cooked food. This is how we lose interest in raw foods.
The spiritual raw foodist is a longterm rawfoodist who is a salt-free rawfoodist because salt is a stimulant and feeds the lower emotions like impatience, frustration, and anger.
For the spiritual Rawfoodist raw food is a tool for raising their vibration to the frequency of the higher self. They realise that they are a better person on raw food and can be of better service to others.
They are raw for life because they do not want to feed the lower mind.
That person will also achieve the full support of their higher self in creating recipes and in sustaining their focus on the good.
These rawfoodists are the good examples we all should seek.

When we were children, most of us were joyful and happy. We lived in the moment and did not have any worries. Unfortunately, the older we get, the stronger the lower mind’s influence over us becomes.
As teenagers, we are confused and do not know ourselves. We struggle to find out what we should do with our lives. We rebel against our parents because we want to find our own solutions.
As young adults, we might have our first experience with a toxic relationship and try to find out about true love. We ask ourselves what is true love? Is it really so hard to find?
If we’re lucky, we might find true meditation, which will help us to get in contact with the love inside of us, which is always waiting for us to turn towards it.
If we are very very lucky we also find raw food, which will help us to control the lower mind more and more.
My mother used to say, “Before you marry, watch your man carefully and look at his negative habits. If he does not work to improve himself in regards to his character, then the same negative habits will become stronger and stronger when he is old.”
Have you noticed that young people smile a lot more than older people? It seems that the world is weighing down on the person and the corners of the mouth pull down more and more the older they get. It is like the world is weighing down on their minds. In actual fact it is the lower mind which weighs down on us more and more the older we get, if we do not chip away at it.
The older we get, the stronger our lower mind becomes if we do not work on it on a daily basis.
Raw food and meditation chips away on the lower mind like water flows over a stone and hollows the stone. Or like chipping away with an axe on a mountain. In the beginning it seems hopeless. However, the more we chip away, the more we find our joy again which is hidden in the centre of the mountain.
If we do nothing, the lower mind will take over and weigh like a heavy mountain down on us more and more until we struggle to smile. It is the most important work in this world to train our lower mind because it is our duty to enjoy every moment in this world so we can be good examples. If we do not train the lower mind/ego self, it will behave like an untrained naughty dog and do whatever it wants. If it does whatever it wants, it will bring us into big trouble.
My life has been dedicated for over 30 years to the improvement of my lower mind and the glorification and liberation of my true self, the soul. I have dedicated the Walking With Lions Series of ebooks to the liberation of the soul.
If you are interested in chipping away on your lower mind and experiencing your true self, which is light, bliss, joy, wisdom, and unconditional love, follow me on chipping away at the lower mind. If you are interested, I suggest you start with my first ebook, Walking With Lions: PRACTICING ONENESS, link in comments.
I am almost finished with my second ebook in this series THE ART OF SURRENDER, which will hopefully be published before the end of the year.

Why I choose to be a 100% salt-free raw vegan

Raw Veganism has many amazing benefits, here I will list a few of them:

BECAUSE OF THE PHYSICAL BENEFITS: Cooked food is extremely addictive, some people say it is more addictive than heroin. Our house is a raw food zone  because if we would just have a little cooked food, now and then, it would change to quickly more. It is very hard to just have a little cooked food because the harmful bacteria in our gut thrive on cooked food. They will demand to be fed more and more. This is why it is so hard not to overeat on cooked food and not to start the cycle of addiction again.
Cooking destroys the fibre in food that is why one can eat large amounts of cooked food in one go and still not be satisfied. Because cooked food has no fibre and is acidifying, lots of it gets stuck in the pockets of our intestines. Fibre cleans the colon, food without fibre can not clean the colon. This is how obese people can die of malnutrition. The accumulation in the pockets of the intestines makes it too hard for nutrition to pass through the intestinal walls.

BECAUSE OF THE EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL BENEFITS: On 100 % raw vegan food I feel blissful. I have no aches or pains, I feel energetic and do not need much sleep, I can focus much longer and much better in meditation. When I feel good physically it is much easier to be positive. On 100% salt-free raw vegan food it is easy for me to rise above thoughts of worries or negative emotions such as anger. Salt is a stimulant just like coffee. It stimulates our lower mind. In my experience, it is very hard to focus the attention above the negative mind when one is on a diet that includes salt and coffee.

BECAUSE OF THE SPIRITUAL BENEFITS: Food is an attachment. One day each of us has to learn to detach from food. Our home is the spiritual region of unconditional love and bliss, where we do not need food. The only way to go there is to be unconditional love. On 100 % raw vegan food it is much easier for me to rise above the lower mind, which is inherently selfish, and to replace anger with empathy. We are not the lower mind, we are not the emotions, and we are not the physical body. When we rise above the lower mind, we start to experience our true self, which is fearless, all-knowing, and unconditionally loving. Then our only desire will be to serve others. Love and empathy for others, which comes from our higher self, will rule us. The need to control, to blame, to be better than, or to be right, which all comes from the lower mind, will fade away. Meditation purifies our physical, mental, and emotional body simultaneously. Raw food helps us to be able to mediate with better focus and concentration.

Empathy And Children

Empathy has little to do with taking on somebody’s pain; it has more to do with emotional intelligence and understanding somebody’s pain. Empathy is the ability to put our point of view aside and try to see from the other person’s perspective. It is a set of skills that we can acquire through practice.

When we practice empathy in our lives, our relationships will be more meaningful and more loving because it is not how others act towards us that makes us unhappy, it is our own reactions, our own anger that creates our unhappiness.

One part of empathy is to learn the ability to observe without evaluating. To be able to do this, we have to acquire emotional literacy.

For example, I myself do not like to be controlled, pressured, or threatened. This is why, I do not control, pressure, or threaten my children.

When we learn to use empathy, we will solicit our children’s or teenager’s help by speaking from the heart, without blame, judgement, and without hurting their feelings or putting them in the defensive. Empathy wants to help my children do their chores from the right motive, which is from love, not fear.

My empathy series of books present in each story an aspect of empathy.

Slim, The Patient Pig, demonstrates how making the effort of being patient in difficult situations will make our lives beautiful.

Slim is available as an ebook and in print.

Avoiding Grey Hair With Green Smoothies and Raw Food

Lots of people in my workshop ask me if I colour my hair. The answer is no, never.

I turned 50 in 2017. One of the main reasons that I do not have any grey hair, I believe, is that I mainly live on green smoothies and green salads. I love preparing other fully raw organic foods for my family and friends, but after you have been a raw vegan for many years, life gets very simple.

Green smoothies are packed full of minerals, vitamins, organic sodium, protein, and magic fibre. Magic, because 1g of fibre takes out 60g toxins. Greens are also the most alkalising food one can eat, they satisfy the body and take away cravings.
I drink 1 – 2 litres a day. I prepare 4 litres for my husband and 1 litre each for my children. I prepare green smoothies in the morning first thing, and we take them where ever we go.

For a 2 litre Jug I use, for example, 3 bananas, 2 oranges, 1 passionfruit, 1 handful of greens, such as kale, spinach, purslane, rocket, dandelion, Warragul greens, edible weeds, silverbeet, herbs, etc. and about 3-4 cups of water.
Varying your greens is very important. Use any other combination of fruit. I buy only organic and get boxes in season. Sometimes I add frozen berries for the children.

By drinking regular green smoothies, (1 – 2 litres per day), I have experienced a dramatic change in my skin, blood circulation, clarity of mind, and energy. Green smoothies also feed beneficial gut bacteria, they, in turn, will make me crave more greens. The more green smoothies I drink, the more my body craves greens.

Some of you might think that grey hair and ageing depends on our genetic make-up. Yes, it is true that genetics are important, but I believe consuming the right food can overwrite our genetics.

Newest research, nutrigenomics, talks about how food can change our genes. nutrigenomics-harnessing-the-power-of-food-to-change-your-genes
